Overview
The New York State English Language Arts test is given in Spring to all students in grades 3-8. The test is used to assess student development in reading, writing, and listening. The test is taken over a two day period. It is a tool used to measure students' English Language Arts skills. Every student in grade7 & 8 must take this test after attending school in the United States for one year; It is required by the New York State Education Department. The good news is that the best way to prepare for a test of this type is to read, read, and read some more.
