I teach AP Calculus, AP Computer Science, and Algebra II A

I have been teaching at Spring Valley High School since 2016

I have two kids, currently three and six years old.  We enjoy reading and skiing and biking and swimming and playing board games. 

I have been studying Capoeira for two years, and am up for my second belt test.  Capoeira is an amazing amalgamation of many of my interests, because it involves physical movement, music, and language study.

The picture is of me competing in a sailing race several years ago.  I love sailing, but I never won any races because some of the other sailors were very good. (One of them won nationals once!) I did usually manage to beat my brother (also in the picture)!

I frequently do Sudoku and other logic puzzles.  Doing these kinds of puzzles can be a great way to get better at mathematical and computational thinking.  Look below for a video from my favorite YouTube Sudoku channel!

I enjoy singing and playing musical instruments (badly).  I am currently trying to teach myself Trumpet and Violin.

I have always enjoyed learning languages, and have current proficiency in French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Klingon.
