The East Ramapo Central School District, located in Rockland County, New York, is an urban/suburban school district that serves over 37,000 students from 47 countries and various socio-economic backgrounds. The District serves students in the Towns of Ramapo, Clarkstown and Haverstraw.
East Ramapo is designated by the New York State Education Department as a High Needs/Low Resource school district, and is committed to meet the multiple needs of its students, who are from varied backgrounds and cultures, and mostly from low income level families.
The District is governed by a nine-member elected Board of Education.
Grade Configuration
The elementary level comprises nine schools. There are four primary schools which serve students in Grades K-3, and one which serves Grades K-6. Three intermediate schools serve Grades 4-6. A STEAM Academy has students from Grades 4-8, and an Early Childhood Development Center serves most of the District’s Kindergarten students.
At the secondary level there are two middle schools with Grades 7-8 and two high schools Grades 9-12.

Expanded School Year (ESY) Summer Programs
Each Expanded School Year (ESY) program balances academics with engaging enrichment opportunities. Students will gain strength in their ELA/Literacy & Math skills. Positive student engagement & social well-being are addressed through writing across program activities. Daily student attendance is expected & necessary to improve skills during the program & into the academic school year.

East Ramapo High School Promotional Exercises and Graduation Ceremonies are being held at Rockland Community College Fieldhouse on June 22 and 23.
East Ramapo Central School District will be hosting the middle school promotional exercises and high school graduations on Thursday, June 22, 2023 and Friday June 23, 2023. Congratulations to all of our Class of 2023 graduates. We are so proud of your achievements!

Senior Breakfasts for the East Ramapo Classes of 2023
The last weeks of school are loaded with many bittersweet 'last' occasions for the graduating classes of our East Ramapo high schools. On the mornings of Monday , June 12, and Tuesday, June 13, Spring Valley and Ramapo High School Seniors traveled to the Crowne Plaza in Suffern to for their respective Senior Breakfast Celebrations.

East Ramapo Central School District will be holding an in-person Town Hall Meeting on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 6pm to 7:15pm at The Hamlets in Nanuet at 1200 Kingsgate Circle in Nanuet.

On Tuesday, June 20, residents will be asked to vote on a revised budget for the 2023-24 academic year.This date is set by NewYork State Education Law for any school district wishing to hold a revote on its 2023-24 school year budget.

All East Ramapo Outdoor Recess and Field Trips held Outdoors are Canceled Thursday, June 8, 2023
New York State Education and Health Departments have provided guidance on actions schools should take on poor air quality. As such, tomorrow, Thursday, June 8, 2023, all outdoor recess and field trips held outdoors are canceled. If your child walks or bikes to school please consider alternate transportation.

My Brother's Keeper Incoming and Outgoing Fellows
Meet East Ramapo’s incoming and outgoing My Brothers Keeper Fellows from Ramapo High School and Spring Valley High School - Kerry, Marc, Luigui, and Jayvienne. President Obama launched the My Brother’s Keeper initiative to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and ensure that all young people can reach their full potential.
