Childcare Options for Healthcare Workers and First Responders

April 13, 2020

During this time of great need in Rockland County, Child Care Resources of Rockland, Rockland BOCES, and our eight school districts are committed to helping emergency care and essential workers continue to do their jobs. For the greater good of all, the school districts in Rockland County are proud to open their doors to provide childcare for children ages 5-12 for essential workers.

In cooperation with the Rockland County YMCA, two child care sites have been opened – West Haverstraw Elementary School and Upper Nyack Elementary School – and other locations have been identified in each school district should they be needed.

We ask that if you are an emergency care or essential worker living in Rockland, please fill out the survey linked here. Those who would like to participate must provide proof of employment, such as work ID. Childcare will be provided regardless of if your child attends a private school or a public school. Hours of available care are from 8 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday. While there is a fee, the Rockland YMCA has generously made some financial assistance available on a limited, case-by-case basis.

For more information please contact Child Care Resources of Rockland at info@rocklandchildcare.org or leave a message at 845-425-0009 x0. While we are working remotely during this health crisis, we are monitoring our emails and phone messages.
